| Learn from yesterday. Spiritual healing
means taking our spiritual memories, our long hidden and suppressed
negative spiritual feelings around our abuse, naming them with the
help of a spiritual care provider, and finding healthy ways to heal
them. As adults, we develop ways to perceive our Creator's presence
in our childhood. We learn to re-frame the abusive events in our
memory. As we do so, we can see the Holy, and ourselves, with new
eyes. As our relationship with the creator changes, our soul begins
to heal. Live for
today. As our souls are healing, we are able to put away the distorted
images of the Sacred, and ourselves, that we developed as children.
We are finally able to let every part of ourselves and our past
be embraced by the Creator in love. That action lets us see ourselves
with new eyes, and begin to know ourselves as our Sacred One sees
us.
Hope for Tomorrow. When we are
able to let our Creator love us and love ourselves, we are able
to move into the future without our constant companions of self-hatred,
self-doubt, fear, and anxiety. Our vision of the future enlarges
and expands. Possibilities open up that we could never have imagined.
Mary’s Hope Workshops
help both survivors and those who care find the tools to help
with the difficult journey of spiritual healing.

There is a plaque on the wall of Mary's Hope Workshops
office with these words. Daily, these words touch my mind, my heart,
and my soul - for they summarize the spiritual healing work of adult
survivors of childhood sexual trauma.
